FAQ's
Do I have to see my medical doctor before I see a chiropractor?
No, Chiropractors may assess and treat without referral by a doctor. However, a few medical aids or plans may require that you get pre-authorisation, but this is rare.
What do I need to bring?
If you wish to claim from your medical aid, please bring your medical aid card.
The consultation will begin with a full medical history and some specific questions regarding your current problem. Please bring results of any tests, scans or x-rays that you may have had which are related to your presenting complaint.
Please wear comfortable loose fitting clothing.
Will medical aid cover my treatments?
Most medical aids will cover Chiropractic unless you are on a very limited plan which does not cover anyone other than certain GPs. The claims are paid from your medical aid savings. This practice is registered to claim directly from the medical aids.
How many visits will I need?
This is dependent on a multitude of factors e.g. what your specific complaint is, how severe it is, how long it has been present for, previous history of injury or surgery to the same area etc. The initial consultation go through all these details and after a thorough examination the issues will be explained and the treatment plan discussed.
