Meet Dr Terri Blake
Dr Terri BLake
M.TEch:Chiro
With a passion for posture, sports and healthy living, my aim is to incorporate these into my practice whenever I can. Personally, I love long-distance running (road and trails!) and have completed a couple of marathons and an Ironman triathlon. I am married with 2 wonderful children, and family activities fill the rest of my free time.
I graduated with a Masters Degree in Chiropractic (M.Tech:Chiro) in 2003, and am currently completing an International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC), accredited by FICS (International Federation of Sports Chiropractic).
FICS has promoted the participation of chiropractors in sports medicine teams, and has organized chiropractors to provide treatment at many national and international sporting events including the winter and summer Olympics. The ICSC is the requirement to work at these events.
This certification is motivated by my own sports interests, to assist fellow athletes and create awareness that Chiropractic is more than treating just the spine. Sports Chiropractic has much to offer patients suffering from a variety of joint and muscle injuries.
I have over 17 years of experience in private practice, and often use digital imaging posture software as part of my assessments.
There are a range of other treatment methods that I use to enhance the effectiveness of the Chiropractic adjustment. These include dry needling, kinesio taping, dynamic taping, instrument assisted soft tissue massage (IASTM), together with home exercise, nutrition and lifestyle advice. Feel free to drop me an email for any further information!
Current certifications
I hold certifications in Basic Life Support (through the American Heart Association), Level 1 and 2 First Aid, and a post-grad certification in Posture Assessment (through the American Posture Association).
